Sebastian Nazario-Colon
Sebastian Nazario-Colon is a Cannes-nominated editor and film director based in New York. He is passionate about Latin representation and creates colorful, surrealist worlds in his work.
Currently, he’s co-editing ’Fillos Do Vento’, a feature documentary on Sabucedo’s Rapa Das Bestas tradition directed by Brais Revalderia.
In early 2025, he was the lead editor on ‘Fillos Do Vento: A RAPA’, an observational immersive short documentary meant for a 360° immersive projection. The project was an official nomination for the Cannes Film Festival’s Immersive Experience Competition and premiered at Cannes in May 2025.
In early 2023, Nazario-Colon produced, shot, edited, and directed the award-winning short documentary, The Boricua’s Dilemma, which explores Puerto Rico’s political status debate. The short garnered over 14K views on YouTube during its one-week limited release. Premiering at the San Diego Latino Film Festival in March 2024, the film has since screened at the New York Latino Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, and the Albany Film Festival.
From 2023 to 2024, he wrote, directed, and edited Ialu, a bubblegum horror romance about a recluse with uncontrollable supernatural abilities getting a shot at love. The film was selected for RIT’s ‘Best of the Best RIT films’ presentation out of hundreds of other student films and is soon to enter the festival circuit.
In Fall 2022, Nazario-Colon interned with the Television Academy Foundation, shadowing editors in the post-production offices of the Warner Bros. and Peacock show, Mrs. Davis, learning from top industry professionals about the business.
In his spare time, he enjoys making music, playing soccer with friends, and lying in the sun. He is always looking to connect with other filmmakers and creators.
